5th edition of the F3 World Cup will be in Macau

The World Council of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) confirmed last Friday that the 67th Macau Grand Prix will host the 5th edition of the FIA Formula 3 World Cup, in what will be the 38th race of the Formula 3 category on the streets of the territory.

The next edition of the race will maintain the same molds as the previous one, in which the entire squad will come from the FIA Formula 3 Championship, using the new chassis built by Dallara, with V6 engines produced by Mechachrome in France and specific Pirelli tires.

Each of the ten teams in the championship – Prema Racing, Hitech Grand Prix, ART Grand Prix, Trident, HWA Racelab, MP Motorsport, Jenzer Motorsport, Charouz Racing System, Carlin Buzz Racing and Campos Racing – will have to register three cars in the Grand Prix in November.

If the schedule of eight events in the FIA Formula 3 Championship does not undergo major changes, it will end at the end of September in Sochi, Russia. The teams’ cars and equipment will then be transported to Europe, where three days of testing are scheduled before the trip to the East.
With Verschoor and Floersch

With no financial capacity to climb a step in the world motorsport pyramid, Richard Verschoor, the surprise winner of the 2019 Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, will continue in Formula 3 and with the MP Motorsport team. The Dutch youngster who was once dismissed by the Red Bull Junior Team and who was only 13th ranked last year, should be present at the MSAR at the end of the year, in order to obtain the “double” in the race and thus try to equal an achievement only within reach of Edoardo Mortara, António Félix da Costa and Dan Ticktum

Sophia Floersch, who also managed to get a place in the championship, found in the experienced Spanish team Campos Racing a structure that gave her hand. The young German woman also received the good news last week that will participate in the mythical 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. Participation or not in the Grand Prix is a subject for later in the year.

The Portuguese language will be represented at this year’s FIA Formula 3 Championship by two Brazilians: Enzo Fittipaldi, grandson of former F1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi, and Igor Fraga, who was born in Japan and is known for his various titles in racing competitions. motorsport in the virtual space.
