A$AP Rocky, Hot Chip, Wire and more confirmed for SBSR

Already reconfirmed for the 26th edition of Super Bock Super Rock are Foals, Brockhampton, Kali Uchis, Jungle DJ Set, GoldLink, Local Natives, Boy Pablo and, with distinction to represent national music, Slow J.

On July 15, 16 and 17, 2021, the 26th chapter of the Festival will be written in Meco, full of Authentic Music, friendship and memories that will last forever. 1 year starts to run and the mythical home of Super Bock Super Rock remains ready to offer us 3 days forever and to add many more chapters to the beautiful story that started 25 years ago.

A$AP Rocky has already confirmed that it will perform at Herdade do Cabeço da Flauta, in Meco, in Sesimbra, in 2021: it acts on July 15th at the Super Bock Stage. The New York rapper is also joined by the North American Son Lux (17 July, EDP Stage), the British Hot Chip (16 July, Super Bock Stage), the mythical Wire (16 July, EDP Stage), and the reinforcing the national presence at the Festival, will also be Pedro de Tróia (July 16, Stage LG by Rádio SBSR) and GANSO (July 17, Stage EDP).

A$AP Rocky is today one of the most interesting and disruptive names in hip hop made in the world, but the path has not always been easy for young Rakim Mayers. The father was arrested when he was just 12, and shortly thereafter the brother was killed very close to his apartment.

These were some of the wounds that would eventually influence his commitment to music and his own artistic personality. Influenced by the southern style of the UGK and by the rhymes of the heroes of their city, the hip hop group “The Diplomats”, A$AP Rocky managed to rise from his environment in Harlem and moved to New Jersey, where he started to do rap more seriously.

On July 15, at Super Bock Super Rock, the public will have the opportunity to see it live, which is undoubtedly one of the boldest names in American hip hop.

When it comes to adding electronic elements to the best indie rock, it is impossible not to mention the work of Hot Chip, the band of Joe Goddard and Alexis Taylor.

They met in 1991, when they were attending Elliott School in Putney, England. In those times they shared the same fascination for names like Beastie Boys or Bill Callahan, and joining such different references was never a problem for Hot Chip, quite the opposite.

Themes like “Hungry Child” or “Melody of Love” promise to win over the audience of Super Bock Super Rock, on July 16, on the Super Bock Stage.

The Wire is said to be the definitive post-punk band, thanks to their ability to create songs in which experimentation and accessibility appear in perfectly balanced doses.

Formed in 1976, the band of Colin Newman, Graham Lewis and Robert Gotobed sprang up from the punk scene then, but always seemed to want to go a little further.

New songs, like “Cactused”, and the classics of a career with more than forty years will make this coming of the Wire to Portugal, on the 16th of July, an unmissable moment – and that could only happen in Super Bock Super Rock.

Son Lux is the post-rock project by performer, musician and composer Ryan Lott.

Lott was the youngest of three brothers and spent his childhood walking back and forth in the United States: from Colorado to Atlanta, passing through California, there was something that has always remained in the formation of this young man: his interest in music.

Between jazz and pop, between guitar and piano, Ryan formed his artistic sensibility, with dance also playing an important role in his life, alongside music.

Portugal is on a list of destinations for the summer of 2021, on July 17th at the EDP Stage of Super Bock Super Rock.

Pedro de Tróia is already a unique and inimitable figure in the Portuguese music scene, with a disruptive vision, an extreme ability for words and an always engaging voice. In a process of reconciliation with himself, in March 2020 he released his solo debut album.

The supplement Ípsilon gives the perfect definition of this debut record by Pedro de Troia: “Out of a man in catharsis, great pop was born”. And this greatness will be felt on July 16, July 2021, on the LG Stage by Rádio SBSR of Super Bock Super Rock.

After taking the country in blast in 2015 with “Costela Ofendida”, and cementing this work in 2017 with “Pá Pá Pá”, GANSO returned in 2019 with a new record release

In 2020, they participated in the album “Cuca Vida” by Conjunto Cuca Monga, recorded jointly by artists from the Cuca Monga publishing house, such as Capitão Fausto, Luís Severo and Rapaz Ego.

And after these successes, GANSO promise to conquer the summer of 2021 as well, with the concert on July 17th at the EDP Stage of Super Bock Super Rock.
