Adriana Calcanhotto closes trilogy dedicated to the sea and plays in Portugal

Brazilian singer Adriana Calcanhotto releases in June the album ‘Margem’, which closes a trilogy dedicated to the sea, started two decades ago and will perform live in November in Portugal.

According to the publisher, Adriana Calcanhotto will release ‘Margem’ on June 7 and the concerts are scheduled for November 16 at the Tivoli Theater in Lisbon, and the 19th at the Casa da Música in Porto.

Adriana Calcanhotto, 53, started the so-called trilogy dedicated to the sea in 1998, when she released the album “Marítimo” which includes, among others, the themes “Vambora” and “Let’s Eat Caetano”.

In 2008, a decade later, he released “Maré”, produced with Arto Lindsay and in which Moreno Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Arnaldo Antunes participated.

Adriana Calcanhoto was born in 1965 in Porto Alegre, where she began her musical career, which includes Brazilian popular music – which earned her two Latin Grammys, one of them for the best Portuguese song – and also books and records for children.

Since 2015, the artist has been an ambassador of the University of Coimbra, where she teaches, which leads her to live between Coimbra and Rio de Janeiro.

Next week, Adriana Calcanhotto will be in Portugal to participate in the Estoril Conferences, which will take place between May 27 and 29, at the campus of the New School of Business and Economics in Carcavelos.
