Promoted by the Association of Cultural Development ‘AIAR’, based in Elvas, the event will take place from October 4 to 7 in the city of Raiana, passing then on the 13th of the same month by Ouguela, in the municipality of Campo Maior, culminating in next day in Alandroal, in the Évora district.

“This festival maintains the same DNA of the previous one, it is a continuation of the work that has been developed, but more diversified in the areas of drawing,” explained José Kuski Vieira, from “AIAR”.

The “Traço`18” has been growing, according to the organization, and has counted in the editions of 2016 and 2017 with “more than seven thousand visitors”.

The festival intends to show the drawing as a cultural form of expression that has “numerous valences” artistic and functional.

This year’s edition will count on the participation of 25 artists, from Portugal, Spain, Italy, Japan and India.

The initiative, to be held in various spaces of Elvas, such as the historical center, museum of photography, museum, castle or museum of contemporary art, will revolve around various themes such as travel diaries, design, geometry, cinema, illustration , scientific design and architecture.

“The festival this year includes two exits from Elvas, namely for the castles of Ouguela and Alandroal,” explained José Kuski Vieira.

According to the same person in charge, the festival “has been growing in terms of public adhesion”, after having achieved “national visibility”.

Besides the works that will be carried out around the drawing, the festival will also count on workshops, sketchers’ meetings, exhibitions and book launches, among other activities.
