Alive returns today to the Passeio Maritimo de Algés
The Passeio Marítimo de Algés, Oeiras, hosts, between today and Saturday, more than a hundred shows, spread across seven stages, in the 13th edition of the festival Alive, whose poster includes The Cure, Vampire Weekend and The Smashing Pumpkins.
The music will be heard in the hall by 3:00 p.m. on the entrance porch, where one of the stages was set up. On the main stage, the concerts begin at 18:00 with the Portuguese Linda Martini. Then there are the Americans Weezer, the Portuguese Ornatos Violeta, who start in Oeiras a series of concerts commemorating the 20th anniversary of ‘The Monstro Needs Friends’, the band’s second album that split in 2002, and the British Mogwai and The Cure.
The premieres on Portuguese stages on this first day are scheduled for the secondary stage: Loyle Carner, “the new prodigy of British hip hop,” according to the organization of the festival, and Jorja Smith, “one of the most stimulating names of recent times. R & B “, also British.
For this stage will also happen the Portuguese Y.Azz X B-Mywingz, the British duo Honne, the American Sharon Van Etter, the Australian Xavier Rudd, the Swedish Robyn, and the British Hot Chip.
The Clubbing stage hosts Funkamente, Jaguar Jaguar, Samm Henshaw, Kojey Radical, Emicida, Stereossauro, which will have as special guests Camané, Chullage and Nerve, and Maribou State.
In Coreto, curated by Arruada, only Portuguese artists from various musical genres will perform Jasmim, Sunflowers, Ricardo Toscano, Solar Corona, and Vaarweel.
Today, Fado Café hosts Camané, Tiago Nacarato, and the band Variações, created under the tribute film to António Variações, and which brings the actor Sérgio Praia to musicians Duarte Cabaça, David Santos, Vasco Duarte and Armando Teixeira, responsible for the band sound of the feature film, which hits theaters on August 22.
In the festival, there is also a stage dedicated to humor, the Comedy, where Joana Ramos, Roda Bota Fora, Miguel 7 Estacas, Jel, Carlos Coutinho Vilhena and Fernando Rocha will play today.
Today, on this stage, which has been transformed into an art facility by Odeith, there will be live painting. A wall, about 30 meters long, will be painted live by Odeith and four graffiti artists, all Portuguese, chosen by him: Rote, Fyre, Vile and Stephan.
On stage mounted on the entrance porch, there will be Nassurra, The Rockets, and Ivo.
