Ana Moura, Pedro Abrunhosa, Blaya and Beatbombers will be attending the Festivities of Lord of Calvary from August 7-12.
In a statement sent by Gouveia City Council that the city will be partying, “with big names in Portuguese music and a vast program of activities” in August.
Fado singer Ana Moura at 11 pm on August 11, and Pedro Abrunhosa at 9:30 pm on August 12, are the headliners of the parties, but also concerts by Blaya and Beatbombers, on the 9th, are featured.
Beginning on August 7, with the dance show ‘Volta’, under the artistic direction of choreographer Aldara Bizarro, as part of the Alto Mondego Cultural Network project, with the participation of Gouveia, Fornos de Algodres, Nelas and Mangualde folk ranches.
On the 9th, at 7:45 pm, the exhibition by Maria Armanda Quintela Augusto will be inaugurated and then the opening to the public of all the spaces surrounding the Festivities of Senhor do Calvário.
Economic Activities Fair, the Patio of Flavors and Local Products, the Miniature Automobile Space, the Book Party, the XI Gouveia Council Associative Exhibition and the X Sheep and Goats Exhibition are some of the spaces you can visit at the fair.
‘Sintonias Serranas’, at 10 pm, you can also see the musical show a co-production of the municipalities of the Intermunicipal Community of Beiras and Serra da Estrela and the association Coruja do Mato.
The 9th, at 17h00, will take place the Abel Manta Painting Award 2019.
On the 10th, at 10 pm, the XLIV International Folklore Festival will be held, organized by the Folkloric Ranch of Gouveia.
August 12, the last day, and the City Day, at 10:45 am, will have the flags hoisted in the Town Square, followed by a commemorative session in the Hall of the City Hall.
Gouveia closes the parties at 00h00, with a closing show and fireworks.
