Ana Rocha de Sousa film debuts in 57 Portuguese theaters

‘Listen’ is the first fictional feature film by Ana Rocha de Sousa, a family drama inspired by real events, about a family of Portuguese emigrants in London, whose custody of their children is removed, on suspicion of mistreatment.

The narrative follows the family’s efforts to prove that the suspicions are unfounded in the face of the British social and judicial system.

With Luso-British co-production, the film was shot in the vicinity of London with a Portuguese and English cast, headed by Lúcia Moniz, Ruben Garcia, and Sophia Myles.

The film also won four collateral awards, “Sorriso Diverso“, for best foreign film, “Bisato d’Oro Award“, by independent critic, Fundação Casa Wabi – Mantarraya Award and Special Award from the foreign press association in Hollywood.

With international distribution by the North American Magnolia Pictures, “Listen” is guaranteed to debut, according to the Portuguese producer, in the United States, Canada and in a large part of the South American market.

The film will still premiere in Europe, but at a date yet to be announced, taking into account the evolution of the pandemic of the covid-19.
