André Dionísio with a tie at the U-20 World Chess Championship
André Dionísio, the Portuguese representative in the Under-20 World Chess Championship, held in Gebze, Turkey, tied today in the seventh round with FIDE master Piyumantha Sasith Nipun of Sri Lanka.
The national Under-20 champion of Académica de Coimbra, already had previous victories, a draw and four defeats.
In the eighth round, the Portuguese, now playing with white – today played with the Blacks – will face Belgian Yordi de Block, who is also with 2.0 points in the standings.
The Under-20 World Cup consists of 11 days and runs until Saturday.
