Asseco sponsors forum on digital disruption and the new management paradigm

Asseco PST, leader in technological solutions for the banking sector, sponsors and participates this Friday, October 30, in another forum on the new management paradigm in the era of digital disruption.

The event, organized by PSO and scheduled for one of the hotel units in Luanda, brings together a wide range of specialists who will discuss the digital transformation underway in the various sectors of the Angolan economy, with a special focus on the new banking business model.

The conference, which takes place in a hybrid model (face-to-face and virtual) in view of the health situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic, is attended by the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies of Angola, Mário Augusto da Silva Oliveira, at opening session, and the director of the National Bank of Angola, Pedro Castro e Silva, in the closing session.

The CEO of Asseco PST, Daniel Araújo, also spoke at the beginning of the forum, with a presentation focused on the theme “The new business paradigm in the era of technological disruption facing the financial sector”.

The head of the technology company specializing in the creation of banking software recalls that Angolan banks are undergoing rapid transformation, with the development of a digital culture that has allowed the advent of increasingly innovative technological solutions.

“These solutions are changing and improving the way financial institutions relate to their customers and the changes will tend to be accentuated”, says Daniel Araújo.

The current Covid-19 pandemic is also influencing execution plans in the financial sector, as is the case in other areas of the economy.

“The digital transformation programs in banking, which had an estimated execution time of several years, started to have the objective of being implemented in months”, explains Daniel Araújo.

The best example of the changes underway is the fact that digital channels, such as mobile banking or internet banking, are gradually transforming themselves from complementary channels into preferential means of contacting banks to carry out financial transactions.

In an increasingly digitalized society, issues related to electronic security are also at the center of the concerns of users of information technologies and companies.

In this context, the banking sector is a particularly sensitive area to cybersecurity issues, taking into account the need to protect computers, servers, networks and data against malicious attacks.

“Cybersecurity challenges and their implications in the Age of Technological Disruption” is the theme of the first panel of the forum. Asseco PST will be present with the head of the Infrastructure and Security area, Gonçalo Heleno, who is part of a panel of five experts in cybersecurity and data protection.

Despite the limitations posed by the current pandemic, Asseco PST has been present at several digital events and will continue to do so until the end of the year. 15 days ago, he was present at the Angola Innovation Summit which was attended by 20 speakers from seven countries.

In an intervention conducted by the administrator Miguel Lúcio, in partnership with the co-founder of InnovationCast.com, Leonardo Varella-Cid, the company presented a showcase that he called “Innovation in the Corporate DNA”. At its base is the rethinking of the innovation process within an organization, supported by a digital platform.

At the end of November, the company will also be present at the Data Science Summit Angola, in what aims to be the largest gathering of data specialists. “The Present and the Future of Data and Analytics in Angola” is the main theme of the first digital edition of this event that will bring together speakers from eight countries in Africa, America and Europe to discuss how to implement innovative technologies for data management in organizations.
