Auction to support Syrian students

40 works by contemporary Portuguese artists will auction works at the Champalimaud Foundation Exhibition Center in Lisbon to support Syrian students, the organization said.

The Global Platform for Syrian Students headed by former President of the Republic Jorge Sampaio, an emergency scholarship program for Syrian students.

The auction will be held at 7:30 pm on Thursday and auctioned works by Albuquerque Mendes, Ana Pérez-Quiroga, Bárbara Assis Pacheco, Carmo Pólvora, Fernanda Fragateiro, Graça Morais, Gracinda Candeias, Gil Heitor Cortesão, Irene Buarque, Joana Vasconcelos, João Cutileiro, Jorge Martins, Jorge Pinheiro, José Guimarães, José Loureiro, José Teófilo Duarte, Julião Sarmento, Manuel Cargaleiro, Manuel da Costa Cabral, Manuel João Vieira, Margarida Areias, Marta Wengorovius, Nikias Skapinakis, Nuno Cera, Paula Rego, Paulo Catrica and Pedro Barateiro.

The works will be open to the public today, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
