Hélia Castro, Carlos Guilherme and António Duarte performed at Barreiro with a great organ and singing concert.
On October 11th, at the Church of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, in Barreiro, there was a Great Organ and Singing Concert, in the ambit of the month of the music that was attended by Soprano Hélia Castro, Tenor Carlos Guilherme and from Organist António Duarte.
The public, who joined and filled the church, had the opportunity to hear various classical works for organ.
Hélia Castro – Soprano, born in Porto, is a doctor and competed for the RTP contest “The Voice Portugal” in 2016.
Carlos Guilherme – Tenor, Studied with John Labarge at the Algarve Regional Conservatory and was a resident singer of the S. Carlos National Theater from 1980 to 1992.
His repertoire includes 41 lead roles in 82 operas, recitals and concerts across the country and his collaboration with the Porto Opera Circle and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is noteworthy. From 1987 he was invited to sing in other countries such as the United States, Brazil, Mozambique, Belgium, France and Israel.
António Duarte – the Organist, performed his musical studies at the Gregorian Studies Center where, under the guidance of Professor Antoine Sibertin-Blanc, he completed the Higher Organ Course. As a Fellow of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, he was a student of Professor Montserrat Torrent in the Organ Class of the Barcelona Superior Conservatory of Music, devoting himself mainly to the study of Iberian Ancient Music.
He is an organ teacher at the National Conservatory School of Music and Head Organizer of the Patriarchal See of Lisbon.
