Beethoven Symphony No. 9 🗓 🗺

Headquarters Building – Large Auditorium
Av. De Berna, 45A, Lisbon

For Leonardo García Alarcón, Associate Conductor of the Gulbenkian Orchestra from the 18/19 season, JS Bach’s childhood discovery had the aura of an epiphany: “I said to my father – I no longer like the music that you like, now I like is from one such João Sebastião Bach, “he told an audience interview. From that moment, Alarcón began to feel the music of Bach as something extremely close, as if talking to him and advising him. The decisive impulse of a musically intense and fraternal “voice”, as it happens in the eternal last tempo of the 9th Symphony of Beethoven.
