Benfica-Rio Ave and FC Porto-Varzim in the Portuguese Cup quarter-finals

The draw of the Portuguese Cup quarter-finals dictated that FC Porto, runners-up (losing the final to Sporting), face Varzim, one of the two remaining Liga teams.

In the event of a win, Sérgio Conceição’s side will face the winner of the tie between Académico de Viseu and Canelas 2010 in the semi-finals.

As for Benfica, another of the main favorites in the race, will receive Rio Ave knowing that, in case of victory, has meeting with Paços de Ferreira or Famalicão in the next phase.

The Portuguese Cup quarter-finals will be played between January 14 and 16, while the semi-finals will take place in February.
