Braga and Vitória SC look for a place in the Europe League group stage

Sporting Braga, after winning 1-0 at home to Spartak Moscow, and Vitória de Guimarães, after a goalless draw at the FCSB, are trying to secure their presence in the UEFA Europa League group stage today.

The Arsenalista side plays in Moscow with Ricardo Horta’s first-leg advantage in the play-off first leg, while the Vimaranenses are going to zero for their welcome to FCSB, heir to historic Steaua Bucharest.

Sporting Braga kicks off at 18:15 and Vitória Guimarães at 19:45, with the common goal of reaching the group stage of the Europa League, for which Sporting and FC Porto are already qualified, and which could count, for the first time, with four Portuguese teams.

The Portuguese presence in the Europa League play-offs also extends to other clubs with Portuguese coaches, with Abel Ferreira’s PAOK Salonica looking to defeat the 1-0 draw against Slovan Slovaks at home. Bratislava and Nuno Espírito Santo’s Wolverhampton trying to maintain their 3-2 lead at home to Torino.
