Bragança invests more than 1.3 million euros in Led lighting

The Municipality of Bragança will invest more than 1.3 million euros in the replacement of more than 5,000 conventional luminaires with Led.

By the end of the year, close to 100% of the entire area of ​​the city of Bragança will have Led lighting, which represents more than 60% of the total light points in the municipality.

This investment, of around 1.3 million euros, results from two applications from the Municipality of Bragança to the North 2020, co-financed by 71.9%, and a decrease of 2,498,590 kWh/year in energy consumption is estimated with public lighting.

With the installation of more than five thousand Led luminaires in the City of Bragança, a reduction of 105,604 tons per year in CO2 emissions is expected.

It should be noted that, in recent years, the Municipality of Bragança has invested in sustainability and in reducing the ecological footprint.

By 2019, 5,025 conventional light points were replaced by Led, which corresponds to 28.9% of total public lighting. By the end of 2020, with the installation of the planned lighting fixtures, more than 60 percent of the municipality of Bragança will be equipped with Led public lighting, representing savings of over 35% in the global billing of energy consumed with public lighting.
