Bragança presents “Dialogues with Art: Chatting with Pedro Rego and Ivone Fachada”

Today, October 2, at 8:30 pm, photographer Pedro Rego will be at the Georges Dussaud Photography Center, in Bragança, to address the theme of the exhibition “Essentia – The Being and the wild existence.” The conversation will be conducted by Ivone Fachada, executive director of the Centro de Ciência Viva de Bragança, and the broadcast can be followed live on Facebook of the Municipality of Bragança.

Since the beginning of my trip in the world of photographic art, the objective has always been to capture the Essence of Nature, that which is most beautiful and most incredible, Life! From the complexity of ecosystems to a simple and pure look of a wild animal, the Essence of life takes us back to Nature and its strength! Without Nature there is no life, no looks, no emotions or relationships. There is no breathing or crying. There is no laughing or hugging.

During this walk I was fortunate to visit some of the most iconic places in the world, where I could contemplate an unknown land in my eyes, only known for the images of other photographers.

I had the objective of being able, through my machine, to create photos of these places and of distant animals, but above all also to create a photographic content that showed us the beauty and the importance of these areas and the beautiful animals that inhabit them.

The goal would be to be able to create educational content in environmental terms through images, so that everyone could not only observe the images, but also create an emotional connection with these animals and their ecosystems, which allow us to learn to like, learn to want to preserve and learn to care.

Above all, we are able to understand that in caring for an ecosystem we are looking after our home and our own existence.

In this photographic trip we will travel the North Pole, Africa and the South Pole, in a small summary of 17 images of landscapes of these places and also of some animals that live there. From the North Pole and its Polar Bear, Reindeer and Walruses, to the South Pole the land of the Penguins, with a passage through the African landscapes and their imposing and beautiful animals!

I wish the visitor to stop at each photo, look and feel the Being and the Wild Existence, feel the Strength and Beauty of Nature, and contemplate the Essence of Life!

The exhibition is available until October 31, from Tuesday to Sunday (9 am – 12:30 noon/2 pm – 5:30 pm) at the Georges Dussaud Photography Center.
