Carminho presents a new CD in 12 national and foreign stages

Fado singer Carminho begins a tour of twelve national and foreign stages on Saturday, with two dates in London, to present her most recent album, “Maria“.

Carminho’s tour opens at the Centro Cultural de Viana do Castelo on Saturday, following the Ponte de Lima, also in Alto Minho, where he performs on February 9 at the Teatro Diogo Bernardes, announced today his promoter.

In this digression, the fado singer is accompanied by the musicians Luís Guerreiro, on the Portuguese guitar, Flávio Cardoso, on the guitar, Tiago Maia on the bass guitar, and Pedro Geraldes on the pedal steel guitar.

The “Maria” CD was released at the end of November last year, with Carminho signing seven of the twelve songs that make it up.

A Tecedeira” is the opening theme of the album that also includes “Estrela“, “A Mulher Vento” and “Poeta“, all signed, lyrics and music, by Carminho.

The fado singer also signs the lyrics of “Se Vieres“, which sings in the traditional melody of Fado Santa Luzia, by Armando Machado, and “Desengano“, recorded in Fado Latino, by Jaime Santos, and the song “Quero Um Cavalo de Varias Cores ” by Reinaldo Ferreira.

After the little scenes, Carminho goes to London, with two dates at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, February 26 and 27.

Already in March, Carminho presents “Maria” in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and opens April, in Paris, where she acts in Le Trianon, on 06.

In Austria he takes the stage at the Konzerthaus in Vienna on March 20, the next day he plays at the Treibhaus in Innsbruck, and on the 22nd he is already in Germany, where he works in Freiburg, at the Jazzhaus, and goes to Dortmund, where it rises to the stage of Domicil. On the 24th, he is in Koblenz, where he participates in the Festung Ehrenbreitste.

On March 26, the creator of “Skirt Round” continues through German lands in Dresden to work in the Kreuzkirche and, the next day, in the city of Karlsruhe, on the Tollhaus stage.

On March 30, in Switzerland, Carminho performs at the Klassik New Orchestra in Winterthur, Canton of Zurich.

In this CD, the artist rescued a theme from António Calvário’s repertoire, “Pop Fado” by César Oliveira and Fernando Carvalho, and “Sete Saias”, with lyrics and music by Artur Ribeiro, a song that was one of his hits, by names like Maria Amélia Canossa and Tristão da Silva.

Maria” happens to the album “Carminho Canta Jobim“.

Carminho debuted discographically, solo in 2009 with “Fado”.

Throughout her career, the fado singer has recorded with artists from other musical areas, such as Brazilians Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Marisa Monte, Ney Matogrosso and Nana Caymmi, and the Spanish Pablo Alborán.
