Cascais will distribute masks to public transport users

The official launch of the “Free Masks in Public Transport” program takes place on Thursday, at 9:30 am, at the Carcavelos train station, with the presence of the Mayor, Carlos Carreiras (PSD).

The distribution of masks will be ensured by a large body of volunteers and the measure is possible since the municipality has anticipated the ordering of large volumes of PPE [personal protective equipment], at the same time that it has purchased mask production machines that will guarantee a production of five million per month, ensuring the municipality’s self-sufficiency in this matter.

Since Monday, public transport started to have to circulate with a maximum capacity of two thirds of its capacity and users must wear masks or visors, due to the covid-19 pandemic, with fines between 120 and 350 euros .
