Casino Estoril opens Rui Carruço exhibition next Saturday

It is already next Saturday, October 17, at 5 pm, that Casino Estoril opens an exhibition by Rui Carruço, entitled “Inquietude do Ser”. With free entry, this individual painting exhibition will be on display at the Art Gallery.

Rui Carruço was born in Lisbon, in 1976. He followed an academic life always linked to the exact sciences, which he is passionate about, until he decided to combine this passion with Art, more specifically with painting. Rui Carruço, always painting from an early age, experimenting and risking as a self-taught man, started painting since 1998 as an organized activity.

In 2000, he attended the drawing course at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon and, in 2003, the Printmaking Course at the Portuguese Engravers Cooperative and several ateliers of visual artists. In 2004, he attended the Renaissance Painting Techniques course at the Angel Academy of Arts in Florence and, in 2005, the stone sculpture course at the International Sculpture Center, in Pêro Pinheiro.

His artistic production is characterized by different styles, which have been guided in the search for an original voice in the world of Art. This voice is arriving with a new current that he called sinuosity, inspired by the scientific knowledge of curved space-time, perpetual movement and other inspirations in the field of physics.

In 2013 he was co-founder of the Atelier Internacional de Belas Artes, where he is still teaching painting workshops. He is represented in several public collections, such as the Portuguese Embassy in Poland; Lisboa Carmo Hotel; Sintra City Council; Lourinhã City Council, Oureana Culture Foundation and in several private collections. He held numerous collective and individual exhibitions in various parts of the world.

The individual painting exhibition “Inquietude do Ser”, by Rui Carruço, will be open to the public until 10 November. Admission is free.
