Casino Estoril will host the “Schubertíadas 2020” at 7 pm on the 7th and 8th of March, at 6 pm.
After the success registered in previous years, this relevant cultural initiative is back to the Panoramic Foyer of Salão Preto e Prata in two concerts not to be missed.
As part of the 4th edition of the Schubertíadas, the Moscow Piano Quartet / Cascais Resident Quartet (MPQ) brought together a group of musicians of choice to celebrate the spirit of chamber music.
Marking the 2nd centenary of Beethoven’s birth, the program joins his music with Schubert and de Brahms, including in works as celebrated and popular as the Septet of Beethoven and the quintet “A Truta”.
Violinist Alexandra Soumm interprets Brahms ‘1st sonata for violin and piano, in a program that also includes Schubert’s Quartettsatz, Brahms’ 2nd String Quartet and Beethoven’s “Arquiduque” trio.
Schubert holds a special place in the hearts of musicians and music lovers. Hypersensitive, shy, capable of spouting music as easily as Mozart, he had just like 31 years of life, during which it would be impossible to write more sublime works.
It is recalled that the “schubertíadas” were private chamber music soirons, performed in Vienna by Schubert and his friends, between 1815 and 1824.
They were informal events, generally little publicized, organized in private rooms, allowing the meeting of art lovers to enjoy chamber music, sometimes accompanied by poetry reading, dancing and wine tasting, in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
Access to Casino Estoril is free, and from 10 pm, it is for people over 14 years old, and over 10 years old accompanied by their parents. In the game areas it is for over 18 years old.
