CBRE wins management of three more commercial centers in Portugal

CBRE, the world’s leading real estate consultant, has taken over the management of three more shopping centers in Portugal, completing its portfolio of assets, now with eight centers in our country alone.

8th Avenue, in São João da Madeira, Rio Sul Shopping, in Seixal and LoureShopping, in Loures, are the new spaces managed by the real estate consultant, which join assets such as Alameda Shop & Spot, in Porto, UBBO in Lisbon or the Alma Shopping in Coimbra. In addition to the management mandate of the new centers, CBRE will also be responsible for the refurbishment process of the Seixal center, Rio Sul Shopping.

CBRE, the Iberian leader in the management and commercialization of shopping centers, currently has in its portfolio more than thirty properties, totaling an area equivalent to about one million and 700 thousand square meters. CBRE receives more than 250 million visitors annually in its shopping centers between Portugal and Spain.

Francisco Horta e Costa, Managing Director of CBRE Portugal, said: “Shopping centers are experiencing moments of great transformation. At a time when visiting them is not just a shopping experience, we have begun to integrate moments of entertainment and culture, turning shopping centers into meeting points that are most relevant to your community and area of influence. This is a business area that has shown significant growth from year to year, confirming that the new way of thinking about the consumer experience in each shopping center materializes CBRE’s view of the future of retail. ”

At a time when online commerce is gaining momentum in Portugal, it is not negatively impacting the performance of shopping centers with growing sales and footfall, and the sector is still very active, with new offerings beyond traditional retail. Attracting new visitors, maintaining competitiveness, attractiveness, and allowing them to adapt to new lifestyles and technological advances are CBRE’s main concerns in this area. Becoming true spaces of experience, shopping centers reinvent themselves, offering moments that combine the latest and most innovative digital features with a unique, more agile and comfortable physical environment.
