Cereja do Fundão bets on new sales channels

Cereja do Fundão challenges the Portuguese to two fingers of conversation and, starting on May 18, it will reach the families’ homes through new means of distribution, such as online sales and baskets of fruits and vegetables.

Promoted by the Fundão City Council, the Fundão 2020 Cherry Campaign is inspired by the proverb “Conversations are like Cherries” and, in addition to the new sales channels, includes a virtual auction, cherry deliveries to participants in the “Sponsor” project a Cerejeira do Fundão ”, live cookings and a festival of live conversations on Instagram.

“Cereja do Fundão is an exceptional fruit and in a context like the one we live in, it is essential to use new promotional tools to get closer to consumers. ”

“With the COVID-19 pandemic, we created a code of good practices for picking the cherry, ensuring total security for producers, workers and end customers.”

“We have also created a new marketing model and, in addition to the commercial partners and large stores, we will strengthen the shorter supply chains,” says Paulo Fernandes, Mayor of Fundão, adding that there will be more news in the coming days.
