Cinema | “Raiva”, A film by Sérgio Trefaut 🗓 🗺

The 1950s. Life in the Alentejo is difficult. Rural workers, under the control of large landowners, work from sun to sunset and what they earn is often not enough to feed their families. One night, after being a victim of great injustice, a man loses his mind and becomes a murderer …

With the realization of Sérgio Tréfaut, “Raiva” is a black and white film that adapts to the big screen the work “Seara de Vento” (1958) by Manuel da Fonseca, a classic of Portuguese neo-realism on poverty, oppression and the social injustices that were inspired by a true event that took place in Beja in 1930. The cast, of luxury, has Hugo Bentes, Sergi López, Catarina Wallenstein, Rogério Samora, Adriano Luz, Leonor Silveira, Lia Gama, Isabel Ruth, Diogo Dória and Luís Miguel Cintra, among others.
