Cision with 11 finalist projects at the AMEC Awards

A total of 11 Cision projects are among the finalists for the AMEC Awards 2020. Two of the works nominated for the most prestigious awards in the media measurement and evaluation industry in Europe are from Cision Portugal.

Cision Portugal is on the shortlist in two categories of awards given by the Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communication (AMEC): “Best use of monitoring for an event or campaign”, for the work “Nobel Prize” in Education, developed with the Global Teacher Prize Portugal (GTP); and “Innovation award for new monitoring methodologies”, with the project to assess the reputation of Higher Education Institutions in the media, designed with the University of Coimbra (UC).

The nominations of Cision Portugal are among the 11 that Cision obtained globally, asserting itself as one of the groups with the most candidate projects for the prizes awarded by AMEC.

The appointment of two Cision Portugal projects, fully conceptualized and developed in Portugal, for Portuguese clients, is a reason for great satisfaction and pride, as it results entirely from the perseverance and determination of our local team. We develop, together with our customers, innovative methodological approaches, totally focused on creating value from project to project ”, says Uriel Oliveira, vice president of Cision Portugal.

Both nominated projects show the importance of the work of evaluating the communication, focused on results for the organization itself. If, on the one hand, with the GTP project, we were able to demonstrate the importance of communication for valuing the teacher’s profession; on the other hand, with the UC project, we identified which axes of reputation contribute most to students’ decision about Higher Education Institutions, a fundamental radar for the alignment of messages for these institutions ”, he adds.

This is the second year that Cision Portugal is nominated for the AMEC Awards, after last year being shortlisted in the category “Best monitoring for the public and non-profit sectors”, with the work “VisitPortugal”, developed for Turismo de Portugal.

The AMEC Awards aim to recognize and celebrate exceptional work and talent in the field of media research, monitoring and evaluation, demonstrating the importance of these areas within the communication and public relations sector.

The award ceremony, which was due to take place in early June, in Vienna – within the framework of the AMEC Global Summit on Measurement, the largest world conference in the sector – has been transformed into a virtual event, which will start on July 6th.

AMEC is the largest professional media intelligence and insights organization in the world, representing companies and professionals that provide media assessment and communication research services. It currently has more than 160 members in 86 countries around the world.
