Manchester City of Pep Guardiola and Portuguese Bernardo Silva beat Brighton 4-1 and won the bi-championship.
Liverpool beat Wolverhampton 2-0 but was 1 point behind them. With Bernardo Silva starters, the city only needed a win to return to be champion, began badly to suffer a goal.
Liverpool, who was expecting a slap from the rival, scored as soon as 17 minutes, by Sadio Mané. And with Glenn Murray’s goal from Brighton to the City, Jurgen Klopp’s team started, it was possible to get to first, but it lasted very little. At 27 minutes, Sergio Aguero equalized and at 37, Aymeric Laporte, put Manchester City to win.
In the second part, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan marked and sealed the triumph over Brighton. Liverpool still scored again for Sadio Mané – still unmarked offside – not giving Rui Patrício a chance, and so despite the triumph over Wolverhampton.
Liverpool finished second with 97 points behind Manchester City with 98 winning the championship for the second time in a row.
The city had already won the League Cup, won the championship today, will now try to win the FA Cup, taking the treble on Saturday ahead of Watford. Already Jurgen Klopp will concentrate on the final of the Champions League, where they will face Tottenham.
