Coimbra company wants to improve accessibility for disabled people

Filipa Bento, with cerebral palsy, created in Coimbra the moov.t – Accessibility Agency with the objective of improving physical and digital accessibility for people with disabilities, reduced mobility and functional difficulties.

The company, whose website was launched today (moovt.pt), will work in the consulting area, specializing in architectural, digital accessibility and for digital and printed documents.

Founded by a person with a disability in Coimbra, moov.t aims to “create a more accessible Portugal for people with disabilities, reduced mobility and functional difficulties,” explains a press release.

“For people with cognitive and sensorial limitations, access to information, accessible products and services is fundamental,” he says. “In order to enjoy a full life, I need public spaces, public facilities, public buildings and residential buildings to be accessible.” the company’s founder, Filipa Bento, quoted in the note.

According to company information, moov.t was born in the Bootcamp project TEC – Transformar, Empreender, Crear and simultaneously competed for the 2017 edition of the contest Acredita Portugal, from Montepio, where he was among the semifinalists.

“We provide consultancy services in architectural, web and digital accessibility and communication and we do the architectural, web and digital and documentary evaluation and certification,” explains moov.t, stressing that it is estimated that there are one million disabled in Portugal.

According to the press release, moov.t is the only company that makes evaluation and certification of architectural accessibility and accessibility of websites, mobile applications and other digital media.
