Comic-Con Portugal this year will honour the eternal Stan Lee

The event space will be renovated and divided into three large areas.

Between September 12 and 15, the Passeig Marítimo de Algés will host the 6th edition of the largest Pop Culture event on national soil: Comic-Con Portugal. The concept that will mark this year’s edition is special, not only for fans of comics or the films of Marvel superheroes but for popular culture in general. The event will host a ‘Tribute to Stan Lee’, a comic book legend and the creator of several of the best-known superheroes and villains.

Stan Lee died on November 12, 2018.

In a statement sent to the newsrooms, the organization explains that following this concept the space of Comic-Con will have a visual identity faithful to the universe of superheroes and cities created by Stan Lee.

Something that will start right at the entrance of the enclosure. Visitors will be greeted by a porch to recreate New York and will feature some of the buildings that Stan Lee has added to the city’s skyline, as is the case with the Iron Man’s Stark Tower.

But this tribute to Stan Lee is not the only novelty. Space will be renovated relative to last year’s edition. It will be divided into three major areas – the Commercial Area, Experiences and Program / Auditoriums – with contents from 10 themes, such as Cinema, Television, Comics, Literature, New Media, Music, Anime & Manga, Cosplay and Comic-Con Kids.

The Commercial Area is one of those that undergo more changes. It will be divided into two large spaces, one dedicated to the sale of exclusive products, the other dedicated to art.

The first is “the country’s largest pop culture mall“, where visitors can buy products, exclusive merchandising and collector’s items, from videogames, movies, series, comic books, anime, among others, to more than 50 national and international stores. countries.

The second space is not new and is one of the most appreciated by visitors. These are Artists’ Alley and Banca Amadora. Here visitors can view and purchase various works of artists already recognized and others still at an early stage of the career.

Tickets are now on sale. The daily ticket has a cost between 20 and 30 euros (10 euros for children), the weekend pass has a cost of 50 euros (15 euros for children) and the general pass costs 75 euros (35 euros for children). They can be purchased on Comic-Con Portugal’s website and social networks, at BOL, Festicket and in the usual places.
