The performances were recorded over a week, in September 2020, in Melides.
Composed of unpublished versions of the band’s repertoire, ‘Sol Posto’ includes three ‘performances’ recorded live and exclusively for the film. The performances take place at three different times of the day: twilight, night and dawn. As in recent daily life, the film faces the idea of a period of reflection instead of action, and of suspension instead of concretization.
“The film brings us a reflection on the passage of time and on its perception, and just as we face the idea of a period of ponderation instead of action, and of suspension instead of concretization, it happens during the hours of Sol Posto , stage of rest, seclusion, dreams and plans, darkness, waiting and the unknown”, consider the five elements of the band (Tomás Wallenstein, Manuel Palha, Domingos Coimbra, Salvador Seabra and Francisco Ferreira).
Initially scheduled for November 14, the exhibition of ‘Sol Posto’ was postponed until today, in order to comply with the new measures enacted by the Government, within the scope of the state of emergency.
In total there will be 70 movie theaters, from North to South and Islands, which will show the film-concert at 20:00 today. Capitão Fausto had previously worked with Ricardo Oliveira, namely in the ‘short’ “Pontas soltas“, premiered in 2016.
‘Pontas Soltas‘ follows the creative process and behind the scenes of recording the band’s third album, “Capitão Fausto’s days are numbered”.
The group’s most recent and fourth album, “A invenção do dia claro“, was released in March last year. The Capitão Fausto discography also includes “Gazela“, published in 2011, and “Pesar o Sol”, from 2014.
