Concerts by singer Aurea, fado singer Marco Rodrigues and Paião project and theatre show mark the schedule of the first five months of this year’s Cine Oriental, in the village of Aljustrel, Alentejo, was announced today.
According to Aljustrel’s Chamber, in the Beja district, Aurea will perform on Friday, from 9:30 pm, to present the latest album “Confessions”, which was released in 2018.
Marco Rodrigues will perform on February 23rd, also starting at 9:30 PM, with a performance in which the Aljustrel Women’s Songs Group will be invited.
The Paião project, composed by musicians Jorge Benvinda (Virgin Suta), Marlon (The Olives) and VIA, who perform songs by Portuguese musician and composer Carlos Paião, who died in 1988, will perform on May 11, from the 9:30 p.m.
On February 21, at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the Chamber Music Group of the Classical Orchestra of the South will give a pedagogical concert to the school public.
In March, Cine Oriental will host four theatre shows, three of which will be integrated into the FITA – International Festival of Theater of Alentejo this year.
‘Pareja Abierta’, by Companhia Memórias, from Honduras, on the 19th, at 9:30 p.m., ‘The Island of Desamanhã’, by Varazim Theater Company of Portugal, on the 21st, at 11:00 and at 14 : 30, and ‘Hominus Brasilis’, by Companhia Teatro Manual, Brazil, on the 23rd, also starting at 9:30 PM, are the pieces that will be presented in the scope of the FITA.
