The third edition of Cumplicidades will take place from March 6th to 21st, with 27 choreographies, performances and performances by national and international artists, some of them in absolute debut, in spaces such as municipal galleries, Teatro do Bairro Alto, Teatro Camões and Teatro Taborda.
This year the program was designed by André Guedes, with performances linked to the reflection on what is national or international, because of the “diversity of languages, biographies, chronologies and different geographies of the invited artists”, says the curator.
The schedule of Cumplicidades also includes the debut of ‘Mina’, by Carlota Lagido, which presents itself as a “transfeminist and intersectional” manifesto, and the presentation of “Heroes”, by Lebanese choreographer Khouloud Yassine.
The National Ballet Company will perform two choreographies from the 1930s: ‘Chronicle’, by Martha Graham, premiered in New York in 1936, and ‘The Green Table’, by Kurt Jooss, premiered in Paris in 1932.
Ana Rita Teodoro will give a dance lecture, ‘Your Teacher, Please’, on Japanese butô dance practices.
Culturgest, Teatro do Bairro, Marvila Library, Lisbon Museum and Casa Independente are other spaces that hosted Cumplicidades.
The International Festival of Contemporary Dance in Lisbon – Cumplicidades is an initiative of the cultural structure Eira, by Francisco Camacho.
