Closed to the public since March 13, following the pandemic, the National Theater D. Maria II announced, this Monday, that it will reopen in September with a new program, which includes all shows canceled between March and July 2020.
Affirming to be preparing the return guaranteeing all the security measures, the administration also clarifies that from 1 July the spectators will be able to exchange or return the tickets previously purchased for the various canceled shows.
In the next two months, D. Maria II also guarantees that he will keep a cultural offer online, regular and free, through the ‘D. Maria II at Home ‘. New shows will be launched weekly, reading of short stories for children, poetry sessions, conversations with artists and many other activities that include sessions with interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language and Audio Description.
