DHL Express, a global leader in the logistics industry, has just updated its On Demand Delivery (ODD) shipment management service offering to shippers and order recipients to improve their online shopping experience.

The new version of the ODD delivery management service has a new functionality – the Receiver Registration – allowing the customer receiving the order to register on the platform and set their delivery preferences, automatically applied future deliveries. The process of managing shipments and customer delivery preferences is thus more agile and simplified.

Luís Carlos Silva, Electronic Shipping Solutions Manager of DHL Express Portugal, states: “In the e-commerce delivery market, more than 90% of consumers analyze the available delivery options before they check out, and their decision is influenced by the speed delivery, flexibility, and ease. On-Demand Delivery keeps recipients constantly informed about the shipping status, allowing them to redial, redirect or conveniently pick up their orders from one of DHL’s ServicePoints network stores. With this new functionality, we intend to improve the experience of our customers and, in this way, make the service even more agile and practical, corresponding to their expectations and needs. ”

In addition to easy-to-use and optimized for mobile devices, the ODD service offers up to six standardized delivery options, enabling customers to receive e-mail or text message notifications about the progress of parcel delivery.

Released in Portugal in November 2016, ODD is available in 45 languages and reaches more than 165 countries.
