The DokuFest International Documentary and Short Film Festival, taking place between now and August 11th, in the city of Prizren, Kosovo, will host a cycle dedicated to the “fiction of the real in Portuguese cinema”.
In the special program of the festival, will be exhibited ‘China, China’, by João Rui Guerra da Mata and João Pedro Rodrigues, ‘Christmas Inventory’ by Miguel Gomes, ‘Green Years’ by Paulo Rocha, ‘A Árvore’ by André Gil Mata, ‘Trás-os-Montes’ by Margarida Cordeiro and António Reis, and ‘Voodoo’ by Sandro Aguilar.
In the section of international short films, there will be ‘Farpões, Baldios’ by Marta Mateus, while ‘Humores Artificiais’, by Gabriel Abrantes, is shown in the section ‘Short Matters’.
In the international documentaries ‘Extinction’ by Salomé Lamas is presented, while the co-production between Romania, United States and Portugal ‘John 746’, by Ana Vijdea, is shown in the documentary category of the Balkans.
The festival will also have a Portuguese jury, with Sérgio Gomes, from Porto, on the jury of international documentaries.
According to the event page, DokuFest is “Kosovo’s biggest film festival”, which features a selection of more than 200 films from around the world every year in cinemas and in improvised exhibition rooms scattered throughout the historic center of Prizren.
The festival also has exhibitions, debates, masterclasses and concerts.
