Dominican Republic is BTL 2020’s International Guest Destination
The Dominican Republic is the International Guest Destination of the 32nd edition of BTL – Lisbon Tourism Exchange, which will take place at FIL – International Fair of Lisbon, from 11 to 15 March.
For Dália Palma, BTL Manager, this choice is due to the great dynamism that this Tourist Representation demonstrates every year when participating in the Lisbon Tourism Exchange, stating that “it makes sense to strengthen relations with the Dominican Republic’s Tourism through the diversity of tourist offer that it presents. Furthermore, we are aware that it is one of the most interesting destinations for the main Portuguese Tour Operators ”.
Karyna Font-Bernard, Director of Tourism for the Dominican Republic for Spain and Portugal, says that “this invitation was received with enormous enthusiasm since the Portuguese market is of great importance to us. Every year we see an increase in Portuguese tourists on the Caribbean island so we know that we must continue to invest in this market, aiming to maintain this growth on a continuous basis. The paradisiacal hot water beaches and the existence of direct charter to the destination are major drivers in the choice of the Portuguese. However, the Dominican Republic has much more to offer and it is the lesser-known destinations that we also want to bring to this year’s edition of BTL ”.
Assuming herself as BTL’s Invited International Destination, Karyna Font-Bernard also adds that “Portugal is a key country in the tourism growth strategy, which motivates the reinforcement in the bet and promotion of the destination during the country’s main tourism fair, such as typical gastronomy, the most beautiful beaches in the world and internationally renowned golf courses ”.
The Tourism stand of the Dominican Republic (in pavilion 4) promises to bring a lot of excitement to the Fair and invite everyone present to get to know a multifaceted and passionate destination, full of culture, music, dance, tradition, paradisiacal beaches and much more.
