The Red Ball is scheduled for December 1 at Palácio do Freixo.
On December 1, when the World Aids Day is celebrated, Abraço organizes the already traditional thematic dance in the city of Porto. The event, this year, will take place at Palácio do Freixo, with the support of the Pestana Hotel Group.
Abraço’s vice president, Cristina Sousa, in a statement sent to the newsrooms, called for the guests to “follow the suggested theme and wear red.” With this color it is about raising awareness about HIV / AIDS and uniting people “for a fairer, more egalitarian and more humane society”, since red is used as “a powerful sign of solidarity in defence of all those who suffer from acts of discrimination and social exclusion associated with a disease that in Portugal affects close to 43 thousand people, “the statement said.
But this Red Ball is not only a fraternization initiative, but it is also intended to raise funds for the budget increase necessary for the implementation of ongoing projects in Abraço.
The cocktail reception is scheduled for 8 pm and costs 70 hugs per person. This initiative will highlight the achievements of the Association over 26 years of work on HIV / AIDS prevention and screening, as well as support for people with HIV / AIDS. To all, this will be added a night of true glamour, with red as the background colour.
