Solidarity event, scheduled for February 22 at 6:00 pm, in the wine testing hall of the Douro and Porto Wine Institute, is intended to support the mission of Bagos D’Ouro, a non-profit association that promotes education and social inclusion of children and young people of the Douro.
The Essence of Wine takes place from February 21st to 24th, with more than three thousand wines from 400 producers to discover. In the calendar of parallel activities, there is a special moment: seven national producers join in a solidarity test, conducted by the Director of Technical Services of the IVDP, Bento Amaral, in favor of the Bagos D’Ouro Association.
With a mission to support the education and inclusion of children and young people from needy families in the Douro, Bagos D’Ouro is a private non-profit association with the support of several wine producers and companies.
The solidarity initiative is scheduled for Friday, February 22, at 6:00 pm, in the wine tasting room of the Douro and Porto Wine Institute and will test a selection of premium wines from some of the region’s most renowned producers. Quinta Nova Nª Sra. Do Carmo, Sogrape, Gran Cruz, Lima Smith, Niepoort, Duorum and Symington are the producers that unite for this greater cause.
The commented test has the value of € 35.00 per person, and the revenues are fully reimbursed to the Bagos D’Ouro Association. The advance purchase can be made through the event website.
The Bagos D’Ouro Association is a private social solidarity institution formed with the mission of supporting the schooling of children and young people of the Douro who are living in an economic situation. This monitoring is done until young people enter active life and, along the way, provide the educational opportunities necessary to promote school success and prevent early school leaving. Since 2010, the Association has helped more than 150 children and young people from the Douro region.
