Fábio Silva, Wolverhampton player, and former FC Porto is the only Portuguese player on the list of the 20 finalists for the ‘Golden Boy’ award from the Italian newspaper ‘Tuttosport’.
Portugal started with seven representatives on the list of 100 finalists: Vítor Ferreira, Gonçalo Ramos, Eduardo Quaresma and Pedro Neto left the list in the reduction to 40 finalists. Now in the new reduction Tomás Tavares, Rafael Camacho and Tomás Esteves fell from the list.
João Félix is the current holder of the prize awarded to the best young player today. Renato Sanches was the first Portuguese to receive the award in 2016.
