Facebook launches its own space dedicated to climate change

The social platform, in partnership with non-profit organizations and companies specialized in the topic, launched the ‘Climate Science Information Center’, a dedicated space within Facebook dedicated to climate change.

The Climate Science Information Center seeks to educate and inspire, indicate individual actions that can make a difference and also help Facebook partners on thematic issues to follow community conversations on this topic.

Partners include the UN Environment Program (UNEP), The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The Climate Science Information Center is based on Facebook’s information center on covid-19, which has already directed over 2 billion people to information from health authorities.

The climate science information center is launched today in the United Kingdom, United States and France, and will soon be launched in other markets.
