Dragons were losing, but they turned around and made a date with the Belenenses
FC Porto has qualified for the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup on Sunday to welcome and beat Sporting 28-23 at Dragão Caixa.
The Lions scored the first-half level and, after putting themselves ahead in the first minute, through Valentine Ghionea, they did not leave the front of the scoreboard, having reached the interval to win by 15-12.
However, the dragons did not lower their arms and staged the ‘comeback’ in the second half. In the 50th minute, they reached the draw, for Areias, and from there they went to the final triumph.
FC Porto thus marks a meeting with Belenenses – who eliminated Sismaria – in the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup and closes the batch of teams cleared for this phase.
