The artist Fernando Daniel started Thursday the tour of his most recent album “Presente” at Noites F in Faro.
Between the opening night, with Diogo Piçarra, and the closing night, with Miguel Araújo, there is humor with César Mourão, Herman José and Salvador Martinha; magic with Luís de Matos; and lots of music: from the pops of Aurea, Agir, D.A.M.A and Fernando Daniel, to the heavy metal of the Moonspell or the hip-hop of Piruka, passing by the special shows, in duet, by Tiago Nacarato & Bárbara Tinoco and Carolina Deslandes & Jimmy P, until the concerts of António Zambujo, Os Quatro e Meia, Pedro Abrunhosa, Sérgio Godinho, The Black Mamba and Xutos & Pontapés, these 20 shows celebrate the reunion between the public and the artists, with their eyes set on the F of Future.
Thursday resumed another week of festivities Noites F in Faro with a concert by the Portuguese artist Fernando Daniel. Festival F has been taking a little bit away from the Algarve’s thirst for culture and yesterday almost 700 people went to Largo da Sé to have fun, with the necessary precautions and distance measures, of course.
Fernando Daniel is a Portuguese singer and songwriter, from Estarreja, who became known when he participated in the talent show Factor X Portugal and when he won the 4th edition of the talent show The Voice Portugal where he played “When We Were Young” by Adele, this same video was the most viewed on YouTube of all auditions for The Voice worldwide, in 2016.
His first single, “Espera“, was released in July 2017 and is part of the soundtrack of the telenovela A Herdeira. “Espera” is included in Fernando’s first album, “Salto“, released on March 16, 2018, and which debuted at the 1st place of the Portuguese album charts.
Fernando Daniel‘s second initiated studio album “Presente“, which gives the tour its name, was released on July 10th, and will be presented in the coliseums of Porto and Lisbon. The artist who is known nationally and internationally has also received several awards such as ‘Artista Revelação’ from the Fornova Best of the New Year Era and Best Portuguese Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
The concert, at Largo da Sé, Vila Adentro, started at 22h-22h20 with a repertoire where Fernando Daniel presented themes from his most recent album “Presente” but also his most famous hits, which we all know by heart. With him on stage were Fernando Mendonza on the keys, Ivo Magalhães on the guitars, Tiago Silva on the bass, and Mike Pestana on the drums
The artist took the stage with the song “Nada A Perder“, followed by “Cair“, “Recomeçar” and the single “Tal Como Sou“, from his 2020 album “Presente“. We also heard the solo version of “Até Voltares “, which is originally sung with Jimmy P, followed by “Nunca“, “Se Eu“, originally sung with the Brazilian group Melim.
“I miss this so much, I miss you so much” said the artist confessing that he doesn’t mind taking a 5-hour trip to do the concert, then sang the song “Fim“, the last song of the album “Presente“, followed by “Espera“, from 2017. He also sang “Sem Medo“, one of the first songs he wrote that describes a little of his path and that talks about not being afraid to take risks, to work and not to be afraid of our abilities.
We heard “Tu” and “Nada Mais“, from 2018, before the artist thanked the Municipal Council of Faro and Festival F for the initiative and for not being afraid to take risks in the name of culture because with quarantine we all deserve a little art. After a big and warm applause from the audience, Fernando Daniel returned to the encore with two songs, “Melodia da Saudade“, a song that he sang for the first time also at Festival F and that Thursday he sang alone on the piano, a year later, and for the last song the band returned to the stage for “Nada Resulta“.
Thus ended another day of Festival F, next this week at “Noites F” we had Xutos & Pontapés yesterday, Agir today, and The Black Mamba on Sunday. Then, next week, it will be the turn of Sérgio Godinho, Carolina Deslandes & Jimmy P, Luís de Matos and António Zambujo to perform.
In the last week of Festival F, it will be the turn of Salvador Martinha, Tiago Nacarato & Bárbara Tinoco, Piruka and Miguel Araújo to take the stage.
On ‘Noites F’, the 20 shows that symbolically celebrate Festival F are taking place at Largo da Sé, which traditionally hosts the Sé Stage, with the remaining stages and spaces of the festival, Quintalão, Museum, Ria, Fábrica, Formosa, Sé cloisters, among others, waiting for 2021 to start receiving music, fine arts, workshops, new circus, theater, humor, and gatherings, in a rich and diversified program that has continued to grow over 6 editions.
The ‘Noites F’ seek to help to keep the spirit of Festival F alive, at a time when artists and the Portuguese most need culture and entertainment to face the challenges brought by the pandemic positively and with hope. ‘Noites F’ is an initiative of the Municipality of Faro, the Municipal Theater of Faro, S.M., Ambifaro, and the producer Sons em Trânsito.
