Fernando Santos named best coach of the world

Portuguese coach has surpassed Tite and Roberto Martínez and snatches the prize he has won in 2016.

Fernando Santos was elected this Tuesday by the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History and Statistics) as the best coach in the world of 2019.

The national coach (112 points) beat the competition of Brazilian Tite (102 points) and Spain’s Roberto Martínez (97 points), and had 25 more than last year’s winner, France coach Didier Deschamps.

Fernando Santos received this award for the second time, after 2016 he also beat all the competition after winning the European Championship.

The League of Nations victory and qualifying for the European 2020 have come to Fernando Santos to convince experts and journalists from 90 countries to choose him as the best in the world this year.

South Korea coach Paulo Bento appears on the list in 19th position with just one point.

With this distinction, Fernando Santos becomes, along with German Joachim Low, the second selector in the ranking with two trophies, just behind the former Spanish coach, Vicente Del Bosque, who has won four times since 1996 .
