‘Festival das Marias’ in Beja postponed to March 2021
Limitations to the normal performance led to the postponement of the festival, which will take place from March 11 to 20, 2021, in various locations in Alentejo, the organization said.
The event, of an Iberoamerican nature, was expected to receive international artists and due to the difficulties in international circulation, it was decided to postpone the event until next year.
In Brazil the Festival das Marias has already started, with a rich and diversified program, which happens only online, except for the cinema program, which is in person.
In Brazil, the first edition of the festival started on Thursday and ends on the 25th of this month, in the city and state of São Paulo, with Brazilian women as protagonists with a program formed by shows and interventions that include music, circus, theater, literature, visual arts, dialogues and workshops.
In Portugal, the Festival das Marias is a co-production of Companhia Alentejana de Dança Contemporânea (CADAC) and the Teatro Lendias d’Encantar company, both from Beja.
