For the seventh consecutive year, the Sintra City Council promotes the “Living Statues Festival” that will lead street performers to perform expressive immobility performances between the Sintra Historic Center and MU.SA- Sintra Arts Museum, on the 24th. and August 25th.
The public will come across a kind of open-air art gallery, where reputable artists of this urban art, awarded both nationally and internationally, will present figures of the culture and history of this World Heritage Village, but also figures of popular tradition and everyday life.
The artists present, without recourse to the word, will embody characters from a romantic, baroque, historical and natural environment, creating an environment full of surprises, either by the visual impact they have on passersby or by the attractive characterization and dress of the characters. that represent.
This year are 31 artists of various nationalities, who will embody characters linked to the romanticism, nature, and history of Sintra, in the route that extends between the Historic Center of Sintra and the MU.SA – Museum of Arts of Sintra, passing by Volta do Shower, Estefânia and Jardim da Correnteza, during the weekend you can enjoy and enjoy these undisputed works of art, embodied by artists who portray the history and culture of Sintra.
The Sintra Living Statues Festival, throughout its editions, has been attracting more and more public, always appealing to the surprise and the enchantment of the senses by the proposals of the artists/statues.
