Filipe Santos sets world record for adapted swimming

The 30-year-old Portuguese athlete sets a historic mark.

Filipe Santos made history in adapted swimming. The Portuguese athlete won the World, European and National World Record of the SM21 Class Down Syndrome in the 25-meter butterfly style test.

With a time of 15.59 seconds, Filipe Santos fixed these historical marks in the National Championship of Adapted Swimming that took place in the Guard during Saturday and Sunday.

In the same event were 132 athletes from 22 national clubs.

It should be noted that Filipe Santos, 30, already owned the world record of 25 meters freestyle, set in 14.14 seconds
