Free museum and monuments tickets next Thursday 🗓
Museums, palaces and monuments under the authority of the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage (DGPC) will be free admission on April 18, to mark the International Day of Monuments and Sites, the DGPC announced.
This year’s theme proposed by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) – “Heritage and Rural Landscape” – aims to “promote the understanding of rural areas as a landscape, and landscape as heritage, stimulating the perception of territories in permanent mutation, which accumulate the knowledge and practices resulting from a continuous experience, constantly adapting to environmental, cultural, social, political and economic imperatives, “explains the organization on the official website.
The DGPC is responsible for the direct management of 23 monuments and museums, including five monuments inscribed on UNESCO’s world heritage list, and 15 national museums.
The program of the International Monuments and Sites Day, which includes guided tours, exhibitions and cultural itineraries, can be consulted through the DGPC website.
