Gonçalo Oliveira gives up in the first round of Bangkok’s ‘challenger’

Portuguese tennis player Gonçalo Oliveira dropped out today in the first round of the Bangkok challenger, when he lost 0-6 and 1-4 against Colombian Santiago Giraldo.

The match of the first round of the Thai tournament, the second on the ‘challenger’ circuit to be played in that city this year, lasted only 45 minutes, with the Portuguese, 273rd in the world ‘ranking’, retiring injured and delivering the victory to Giraldo.

In the second round, the 277th tennis player of the ATP hierarchy will face Uzbek Denis Istomin.
