During the next school year, around 300,000 students from needy families will receive a computer with Internet access. The government announced that it will allocate 70 million euros from the reprogramming of European funds managed by the Coordination and Regional Development Commissions for this purpose.
The computers will be purchased according to the needs of the education cycle in question. Cameras that have already purchased computers to distribute to students during the distance learning period will be reimbursed through European funds.
In the midst of a pandemic, inequalities in distance learning were a recurring theme after schools were closed by the government.
