Ecological cars are an unavoidable trend because they have several benefits for society at an economic and environmental level. As such, the acquisition of this type of vehicle has been encouraged by several entities, such as the state, environmental organizations, automobile manufacturers, among others.
There are several types of vehicles that are considered environmentally friendly. Altogether, currently, there are five variations of ecological cars: Electric, Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, Mild-hybrid and Hydrogens. Ecological cars are automobiles elaborated and designed to emit less polluting gases and for that they have to reduce their consumption of fossil fuels.
Why are green cars here to stay?
The conditions, especially environmental, are increasing. There is, throughout the world and especially in developed countries, a “pressure” to reduce emissions of polluting gases. In recent times, the global economy has tried to adapt to these demands and is looking for different ways to reduce these emissions in various sectors. And, the automotive industry is no exception.
In Portugal and, certainly in other countries, there are several laws and measures implemented to penalize and condition the use of “polluting” vehicles, such as Increase in ISV (Vehicle Tax); IUC according to some characteristics of the car, including CO2 emissions; and conditioning the use of polluting vehicles in large cities.
This set of measures, which conditions the purchase and use of conventional cars, has as main objective to bring environmental and ecological benefits. Thus, it is intended to reduce emissions of polluting gases, as well as the consumption of non-renewable natural resources (fossil fuels).
The benefits of environmentally friendly vehicles are not exclusive to the environment. The owner, whether singular or collective, of this type of car, also enjoys some advantages. For example, the use of these cars is not restricted in large cities.
In addition to these, there are other advantages that users are likely to value more: economic ones. There are several measures that have as main objective to increase the acquisition and use of ecological cars such as:
– A monetary incentive for the purchase of a 100% electric car;
– ISV exemption for 100% electric cars;
– Reduction of ISV for other vehicles with electrical component;
– VAT deduction for companies;
– Vehicle depreciation for companies;
– Free parking at some points.
These measures have a direct impact on the daily life of a green vehicle owner.
