Handicraft exhibition of the Festas d’Agonia promotes artisans on an online platform
A digital exhibition will take the centennial Craft Exhibition of the Nossa Senhora d’Agonia Festivities to make itself felt in August, exclusively ‘online’ for artisans in the county, who will be able to register until July 10th.
This online directory, which will be part of the official Festasdagonia2020.com page, will allow artisans to publicize their products, art and contacts, as was the case in previous editions of the Mostra de Artesanato, which this year does not take place physically, as a way of preventing Covid-19.
“We are aware of the enormous impact this pandemic is having on artisans, especially those who do not have a physical store. For many, the Craft Show at the Nossa Senhora d’Agonia Festivities was very important for their sales to materialize ”, explains António Cruz, president of the festivities committee.
Between August 19 and 23, the Festas d’Agonia will be felt at a distance, in digital format, through the official website, through social networks, but also through radio and television, in addition to exhibitions in emblematic streets of the city with photographs. of the different iconic pictures of the party, due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The Handicraft Exhibition of the Feasts of Nossa Senhora d’Agonia dates back to 1917, when the first exhibition of regional craftsmen took place, reaching today as an anchor event in the city, with dozens of artisans and preceding the start of the parties.
“In order to help, because we are fully aware of the impact of the physical failure of the Craft Exhibition, we will develop this directory, which will bring together on the‘ online ’platform the artisans who sign up to publicize their products”, adds António Cruz.
Through this directory, users will be able to see the portfolio of each registered craftsman, with photographs of their work. In the same space will meet the artisans of the municipality who wish to do so and in this way users will be able to purchase pieces of art directly from the authors.
Registration for the digital craft show can be made through the vianafestas.com portal, from June 26 to July 10.
The official page Festasdagonia2020.com, which will host this handicraft directory, will be available from 01 to 23 August.
