The private hospital of Trofa that opens Monday in Vila Real represents an investment of 50 million euros and created about 500 jobs, said today a source of the group.
The administrator of the new hospital of the Trofa Health Hospital group, Armando Vieira, said that this unit wants to “offer differentiated health care” and serve the entire territory of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro.
“We want to be close to the population and offer the most differential in the market and in the health area,” he said.
In this tenth unit of the group, around 500 jobs have been created, of which 300 are related to medical and nursing personnel who will work full time or under a service regime, the rest being related to the areas administration or maintenance.
The hospital, built next to the commercial center of Vila Real, will offer “more than 40 medical specialties”.
The urgency for adult and pediatric will work 24 hours, every day of the week.
The emergency department will have five specialties, namely internal medicine, general surgery, general and family medicine, orthopedics and pediatrics, with the support of complementary diagnostic tools (imaging, gastroenterology, clinical analysis), operative block and hospitalization.
The new hospital unit will provide subspecialty dental medicine and will also have physiotherapy with treatment booths, gym and hydrotherapy, ambulatory surgery, operating room, birth unit, an intermediate care unit and neonatal care unit.
The Trofa Saúde group, created in 1999, wants to expand and, until the end of the year, opens another day hospital in Guimarães, followed by new units in Porto, Aveiro, Valença, Barcelos and the area metropolitan of Lisbon.
At present, Trofa Saúde has seven hospitals and three day hospitals and employs around 5,000 people.
